It's nice and simple - it gets annoying sometimes to have to figure out the hidden meaning behind a piece of art. It's much easier when there /is/ no hidden meaning.
Black and white shots can often look boring because of the lack of colour - which is why they're harder to do successfully. But you've managed it - this doesn't look flat, as many b&w shots do. So kudos to you!
For some reason this photo makes me sad. maybe because it reminds me of my grandpa who died a few months ago, but I feel very sad to see it. The photo is beautiful, and I just love it in black and white. If it was in color I think It would look bad, but this looks great!
I really appreciate your comment, that's very touching.. That's really made my day that my photo could provoke such emotion. It's a bummer that your old man died.
Excuse me for speaking out of line but after I read that I kind went back to when I was a child when I spent time with my granparents.. my eyes went down to your signature "Go Satan!" and that cracked me up like a kid.
Yeah I see what you mean, that's all a bit cliche though.. very typical city shot.
It would be very professional.. almost magazine like: "this city is for you! sit and let your dreams come true!!" but for the purpose of this photo.. it would look a little weird because the viewer wouldn't have a clue what he is looking at.
I like multidimensional images really.. and I'm also quite selfish so I always shoot what I want.
I like your description, hehe. Sometimes art is just about what you see--I think sometimes people try to hard to come up with some special meaning when there is none aside from what's visually present in the image itself. I love the range of tones you've captured here
This is nice, quite homely. I would have framed it a tad farther to the right, since his form leads the eye in that direction, and it is not like there is much you'd miss on the left-hand side. Otherwise... contrast & brightness are just fine... and the subject is interesting.
exactly, I see what you mean when a person doesn't understand what's "so special" about a photography.
This kind of photos, I find it awesome: to give importance to a determined subject by taking a well exposed shot.
Very curious photo this one, thanks for the comment and the link
lol, its great i think it kinda depicts a lot more though. The idea that we have abandonned the older generation and they are left lonly on an empty bench, while people just keep walking by. Its a great piece
